Fredericks Brown
The band Fredericks Brown composed of Deva Mahal, Stephanie Brown, and Michael Taylor found in each other a passion for storytelling and songwriting that combines imagery and narrative. As a trio, they deliver a stunning blend of strength and intimacy that draws anyone within earshot closer. Their music fuses the cultural heritage of New Zealand.
Since forming, the band has opened for Etta James and toured in support of Taj Mahal. They perform regularly around New York City (Brooklyn Bowl, Rockwood Music Hall, Beacon Theatre, Carnegie Hall, Ella Lounge) as well as throughout the New England area. Fredericks Brown is soon to release its second EP, Land of Plenty (Jazz and Milk Records). The band recently returned from a tour of the Northeast finishing off with a performance at the first annual Grand Points North festival hosted by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals.
